The pod size should limit to 3 m in width otherwise it will be unable to be transported by flatbed trailer on highway or vehicle road. All pods are packed with waterproofing membrane to against adverse weather during transportation and be stored at site. During hoisting to the flatbed, a special steel hoisting device is designed to up lift the pod without applying compression to the walls, the pod is then put on resilient material laid flatbed and strapped into position with slings.
Internal Movement within Building
Provided the corridor is wide enough and the headroom is tall enough, the building on each floor should provide a temporary cantilever platform of 2 ton imposed loading capacity to receive the pod from outside. The whole pod will be place on a 1000 x 1000mm castor turntable or pallet trucks depend on the operation space and the shape of the pod. As the pod is carried to correct position, two compressed air rods will be placed under the pod and have them expanded. As the rods expanded to the design level, the turntable or pallet trucks can be taken out; after that the gas in rods will be released until the pod sits in position.
Factory Situation Test
An investigation team led by Venetian Macau Ltd. had gone to our Zhongshan factory on 18 April, 2007 for situation test. A prototype has been built (photo 1) and lifted up in the factory.
Team members went inside and tested for rigidity when the pod was lifted (photo 2) above the bottom support. Finally, a leveler was brought to check for any sagging for the floor, and it proved no sagging (photo 3).
In the situation test, no twisting of the pod and cracking of marble tiles on walls and floor. The substrates and finishes had been upheld in good conditions. Besides the connection of pipes and electrical at the real place, the pod is basically successfully developed.
